Blood of My Enemies Whiskey Mule Recipe
Blood of My Enemies Whiskey Mule Ingredients
2 oz / 60 ml Whiskey (I used Jack Daniel's)
.75 oz / 22 ml Lime juice
.5 oz / 15 ml Simple syrup
2 oz / 60 ml Pomegranate juice
1 oz / 30 ml Tart cherry juice
Top with ginger beer (I used Diet Cock & Bull)
How to make a Blood of My Enemies Whiskey Mule
Stick the blood type label on the pouch before you fill it. Add the whiskey, lime juice, simple syrup, pomegranate juice and tart cherry juice to a shaker with ice. Shake until cold. Open the pouch and strain the drink straight in. Top with ginger beer. Seal the pouch and add a straw.

This is the whiskey drink from the blood bag video. It's basically a Tennessee mule with a little cherry and pomegranate added. The pomegranate and tart cherry juice do all the color work, so there's no dye anywhere near it. I used Ocean Spray tart cherry juice because the red is so deep that an ounce of it is enough to earn the name.
Is it strong?
No, and that's on purpose. It's 2 oz of whiskey against 3 oz of juice plus the ginger beer, in a bag that holds 16 oz. I built all three of these more like a party punch, because not everyone wants a small, booze-forward cocktail. This is the one to sip on at a party, or while you're waiting for trick-or-treaters.
Do you have to use ginger beer?
You can use Sprite or something like it if you'd rather. I wouldn't. The ginger beer is one of my favorite parts, and it's what makes this a mule. I almost forgot it in the video. It goes in after you shake, never in the shaker. I used Diet Cock & Bull.
Can you batch it for a party?
This is the easiest of the three to batch. Everything but the ginger beer can sit in a pitcher ahead of time. Fill the bags as people show up and top each one with ginger beer before you seal it. Filled bags go in an ice bucket, or a beverage tub if it's a bigger party.
About the blood bags
They're 16 oz adult drink pouches that stand up on their own. One thing that's changed since the video: they no longer come with blood type labels, so the labels are a separate buy. How to fill them, and whether pebble ice fits, is covered on the blood bag margarita page.
The green Reptilian Blood comes from the same video, and the full lineup is in the Halloween cocktail roundup.
