Jack Daniel's Cherry Ginger Cosmo Ingredients

2 oz / 60 ml Jack Daniel's Old No. 7

0.5 oz / 15 ml Fiery ginger syrup (I used Liber & Co.)

0.5 oz / 15 ml Fresh lime juice

1 oz / 30 ml Tart cherry juice

2 dashes Angostura bitters

Moonshine or cocktail cherries, for garnish

How to make a Jack Daniel's Cherry Ginger Cosmo

Shake the Jack Daniel's, ginger syrup, lime juice, tart cherry juice, and bitters with one-inch ice cubes. Double strain into a chilled coupe or martini glass and garnish with a cherry or two.

My own invention, and the one I was most excited about in my Jack-and-ginger experiments: a whiskey cosmo that trades cranberry for tart cherry and gets its heat from fiery ginger syrup instead of ginger beer — same flavor profile, no bubbles. It came out spicy and ginger-forward, and honestly drinks like a wintertime cocktail; I'd put it on a Thanksgiving or Christmas menu without hesitation. Note that the ginger syrup is thicker and more concentrated than 1:1 simple, so half an ounce goes a long way.
