Whiskey Sour

The Whiskey Sour belongs to one of the oldest cocktail families around: sours, built on the simple ratio of spirit, citrus, and sweetener, date back to at least the 1860s. Some accounts trace the format even further, to sailors adding citrus and sugar to their rum ration to fight scurvy at sea. This version keeps it classic: whiskey, fresh lemon juice, and simple syrup, shaken until frothy.
