Smoky Pineapple Mezcal Margarita Recipe
Smoky Pineapple Mezcal Margarita Ingredients
1.5 oz / 45 ml Mezcal (I used Unito)
0.5 oz / 15 ml Pierre Ferrand Yuzu Curaçao
0.5 oz / 15 ml Agave nectar
1 oz / 30 ml Fresh lime juice
2 oz / 60 ml Pineapple juice
Habanero Tajín, for the rim
Grilled pineapple wedge and pineapple fronds, for garnish
How to make a Smoky Pineapple Mezcal Margarita
Rim your glass (or mini bucket) with habanero Tajín. Shake the mezcal, yuzu curaçao, agave nectar, lime juice, and pineapple juice with pebble ice, then open pour the whole thing into the vessel. Garnish with a grilled pineapple wedge and a few pineapple fronds.

The Ace Hardware entry in my bucket-margarita series, and my favorite of the bunch: smoky mezcal against sweet pineapple, with Pierre Ferrand's yuzu curaçao adding a bright Japanese-citrus twist you don't see in a typical marg. The habanero Tajín rim brings the heat, and shaking the pineapple juice gives it a nice frothy texture. From the taste test: the smokiness with the yuzu is perfect, and the grilled pineapple garnish is more than decoration — this one's for whoever obsesses over the perfect smoke ring on a brisket.
