Menards "Save Big Money" Margarita Ingredients

2 oz / 60 ml Blanco tequila (I used LALO)

0.5 oz / 15 ml Cointreau

1 oz / 30 ml Fresh lime juice

0.5 oz / 15 ml Honey syrup (honey diluted with a little hot water)

Top with Sprecher Orange Dream soda

Black and white salt, for the rim

Lime wheel, for garnish

How to make a Menards "Save Big Money" Margarita

Rim your bucket (or rocks glass) with black and white salt. Shake the tequila, Cointreau, lime juice, and honey syrup with ice. Fill the vessel with pebble ice, strain the drink in, then top with the Orange Dream, pouring it down a barspoon so it integrates without much stirring. Cap with a little more pebble ice and garnish with a lime wheel.

The Menardarita: part of my Father's Day hardware-store bucket series, made in a mini Menards pail and built to honor the Midwestern king of home improvement. It starts as a proper margarita with additive-free blanco tequila, then deviates with honey syrup and a topper of Sprecher Orange Dream, a Wisconsin-brewed orange soda. My honest taste test: it drinks very differently from a regular margarita, sweeter thanks to the soda, and genuinely excellent. Next time I might try a jalapeño tequila to push back against the sweetness. You're saving big money on flavor right here.
