Banana Cognac

This one comes from Death & Company's cocktail book (Modern Classic Cocktails, page 210), reworked here to be less sweet and more booze-forward than the original: more cachaça, lime instead of lemon and orange juice, and a touch less banana syrup. The cachaça brings a funky, tiki-adjacent edge that plays well against the cognac, and the banana syrup and orgeat round it out without tipping into dessert territory. Serve it over crushed ice. It's built to be a warm-weather sipper, not a stirred nightcap.
