How to make a Mint Julep

Gently muddle mint and simple syrup. Add bourbon. Stir with crushed or pebble ice until chilled.

Mint Julep

The Mint Julep dates back to 18th-century America, but it's best known today as the official drink of the Kentucky Derby, a title it's held since 1938 — Churchill Downs now pours well over 100,000 of them every Derby Day. Bourbon, sugar, and fresh mint, packed over crushed ice until the glass frosts over.
