Mint Julep Recipe
Mint Julep Ingredients
2.5 oz. bourbon of your choice (I used Woodford Reserve Bourbon)
.5 oz. simple syrup or mint infused simple syrup
7-10 mint leaves
Large mint bouquet for garnish
How to make a Mint Julep
Gently muddle mint and simple syrup. Add bourbon. Stir with crushed or pebble ice until chilled.

The Mint Julep dates back to 18th-century America, but it's best known today as the official drink of the Kentucky Derby, a title it's held since 1938. Churchill Downs now pours well over 100,000 of them every Derby Day. Bourbon, sugar, and fresh mint, packed over crushed ice until the glass frosts over.
