Jim Beam Pineapple Old Fashioned Ingredients

2 oz / 60 ml Rye whiskey (I used Jim Beam Rye)

0.5 oz / 15 ml Jim Beam Pineapple

2-3 dashes Chili lime bitters

Lime twist, for garnish

How to make a Jim Beam Pineapple Old Fashioned

Add the rye, Jim Beam Pineapple, and chili lime bitters to a mixing glass with a few one-inch ice cubes. Stir until the glass shows a nice frost, a sign it's properly chilled and diluted. Strain over a big cube or sphere in a rocks glass and garnish with a lime twist, a little signal of the chili lime bitters inside.

The clear winner of my Jim Beam Pineapple experiments, and it shocked me. There's no simple syrup here at all: the pineapple liqueur is so thick and sweet that half an ounce does the sweetening and adds body, and chili lime bitters push the whole thing somewhere pleasantly tropical. I expected an 80-proof rye to get lost in an old fashioned, but this came out seriously drinkable. If you buy a bottle of Jim Beam Pineapple, this is the best thing to do with it.
