Tequila: Beyond the Margarita with Tequila Espresso Martinis
Margaritas are probably the first tequila cocktail that pops into your mind. Have you ever wondered what other cocktails you can make with tequila?

Can you make an espresso martini with tequila?
Yes! I think an espresso martini is even better with tequila than vodka. I'm going to start out making one with a blanco tequila. Blanco tequilas are unaged, so they highlight the pure flavor of agave. I'm using LALO tequila since it's additive-free, 100% agave, and is produced using the traditional brick oven method.
I’ve made plenty of espresso martinis and ordered plenty of espresso martinis in bars, but I have only made tequila espresso martinis at home.

Tequila Espresso Martini Recipe with LALO Blanco
- 2 oz. / 60 ml Tequila (I used LALO blanco)
- 1 oz. / 30 ml / 1 shot Freshly Brewed Espresso or Cold Brew Coffee
- .5 oz. / 15 ml Coffee Liqueur (I used Mr. Black Coffee Liqueur)
- .5 oz. / 7 ml Simple Syrup
Reposado Tequila Espresso Martini
Espresso Martinis are amazing with blanco tequila, but I think I’m going to experiment and use reposado tequila in an espresso martini, since it has been aged up to 4 years and has picked up some vanilla and oak notes that will go great with espresso. I’ll use Espolon Reposado in this tequila espresso martini.

- 2 oz. / 60 ml Tequila (I used Espolon Reposado)
- 1 oz. / 30 ml / 1 shot Freshly Brewed Espresso or Cold Brew Coffee

Both of these espresso martinis with tequila will taste great, give you a great buzz, all while keeping you awake! If you are interested in more coffee cocktails, check out my playlist of cocktails with coffee on YouTube.
